Most of what you've read so far is about the past, and that is as it should be. But Harry Driver's influence is also about the present. For more than twenty years, the members of this band slowly drifted apart. As time went by, there was less and less contact. Families were formed; children were born; many miles separated us; and that's the way life deals the cards.
The resurgence of the band came about because Harry wanted us to perform one more time...at a party celebrating his sixty-fifth birthday. As he had done numerous times throughout our association, he created an opportunity...but this time an opportunity for us to enjoy being together again. And we have enjoyed...not only practicing and performing, but having fun and catching up on a lot of lost years. The result is the closest thing possible to a reversal of the aging process. To put it into perspective, how many athletes in their fifties do you know who can reverse the clock and perform, with the same group of friends, as they did...better than they did...when they were in their twenties?
It is true, indeed, that we never stop learning, and there are two lessons we have learned from this experience. Music is timeless and very special...transcending all prejudices. And, never-ending friendships really do exist. What you will hear on our new CD, "...send 'em home tap-dancing," is music from the past created for the present, brought about by Harry Driver and performed by friends as a labor of love. We hope you enjoy it.
